Joining the Sacred Roots family shortly after his graduation from massage therapy school, Jonathan was introduced to bodywork during a movement and trauma education workshop. There he fell in love with the idea of helping people to let go of tension to improve their wellbeing, performance and overall happiness.

During his massage education he discovered his passion for myofascial and deep structural work for realigning the body, as well as providing a safe, nurturing space for people to quiet their mind and release inner energetic blockages.

Jonathan looks forward to constantly adding to his tool kit to be the best therapist he can be, and  is looking towards training in Thai massage later in 2021.

  1. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A lawyer… I would spend many childhood summers reading through my grandparents' oddly large selection of John Grisham novels imagining myself defending the less fortunate from Big Tobacco.

  1. Interesting fact about yourself?

I practice Baguazhang, a martial art that combines martial exercises, Qi Gong and spiritual practices to harmonise the mind, body and spirit. It is actually what led me to becoming a massage therapist in the first place.  I’m also generally a huge nerd when it comes to anything martial arts or JRR Tolkien related.

  1. What do you love about Kansas City?

My second home after moving here from Austria, I have met many warm and welcoming people here. Oh and the BBQ is fantastic!

  1. What is something you wish everyone knew about massage?

Massage truly is for everyone! It has benefitted me immensely, and it’s my dream to share this message with others, so we can explore what it has to offer for you!

Are you a competitive athlete? Massage will improve your performance, prevent injury and help your recovery!

Does your office desk  job wear you out? You are welcomed to leave the stress behind and rest your eyes, while I work on your posture!

Do you have a busy family life and just need some time for yourself? Here you can take that time and recharge your batteries!

  1. Favorite therapy to receive?

I would have to say the Lotus flower, both for its beauty and for what it represents in Buddhism, purity of the body, speech and mind.
