Infrared Sauna

About Infrared Sauna

Infrared saunas use light to create heat. This type of light is called far-infrared "FAR", this is where the infrared waves fall on the spectrum of light. A traditional sauna uses heat to warm the air, which then warms your body. Far infrared saunas directly heats your body without warming the air around you. Infrared light is within the "safe" spectrum, this is why they have no known negative side effects. They do however provide numerous benefits, and can contribute to your overall health and wellness.

Our personal saunas include everything you need to get started today. You can use the hand held controller to set the temperature and time to a desirable setting. It is recommended to drink plenty of water afterwards and to limit your sessions to 20-30 minutes. If you have a heart condition, low blood pressure or are pregnant it is best to speak with a physician or doctor before purchasing any sauna whether that be an infrared or steam sauna.

Infrared Sauna's are made with health and recovery at top of mind. They offer a variety of benefits including:

  • Improved Cardiovascular performance
  • Accelerates athletic recovery
  • Relieves pain
  • Aids in restoring normal bodily functions

For the most optimal results, we recommend two to three 20-30 minute sessions per week.

There’s evidence that shows Infrared Saunas can:

  • Reduce joint pain and stiffness
  • Decrease oxidative stress
  • Improve overall mood
  • Improve symptoms associated with chronic fatigue
  • Support cardiovascular health
  • Improve performance and recovery

And lastly, there’s no evidence that infrared saunas can:

  • Detoxify your body
  • Promote weight loss
  • Prevent the common cold
  • Improve skin health
  • Fight cancer

Have you ever wondered what an infrared sauna session is like? At Sacred Roots Healing, our infrared saunas are designed to help you relax and can gelp with joint and muscle pain. Here’s what you can expect during a session:

First, you’ll need to wear comfortable clothes and remove jewelry. You’ll also need to remove any makeup, lotions, or oils from your skin. Then, you’ll need to wait a few minutes for the sauna to reach its optimal temperature. Once the sauna is ready, you can enter and find a comfortable position. Most people like to sit or recline in the sauna, but you can stand if you prefer.

During the session, you’ll likely feel very relaxed. You may even fall asleep! The infrared heat will also cause your body to sweat. This is perfectly normal – in fact, it’s one of the main reasons people use infrared saunas.
